OPENZ Membership

Membership of OPENZ is open to any organisation with an interest in the export of New Zealand certified organic products. Members have direct input into the group’s activities through the elected Executive Committee, as well as through regular meetings and networking occasions.

Member organisations include Fonterra, Heinz Wattie's Australasia, Zespri International, BIO-GRO New Zealand, The Bio Dynamic Farming and Gardening Association (Demeter), AgriQuality New Zealand Ltd and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise.

As well as being a forum for larger companies, OPENZ' objective is to assist smaller businesses to enter and develop markets for their organic products. The involvement of the certification organisations (both of which are represented on OPENZ' Executive Committee) is seen as important in assuring that their services meet the needs of the exporting industry whilst maintaining the organic integrity of the products.

Research organisations such as Massey and Otago Universities are also members, providing the necessary link between organic production research and the developing organics exporting industry.
